Employment Services
Community Resources Employment Services Program
At Community Resources, we believe that with the right support, everyone can pursue meaningful, community-based employment. Our Employment Services Program empowers individuals to explore their interests, develop essential workplace skills, and secure competitive-wage jobs aligned with their personal goals.
Employment Training Program – Discovery Phase
The journey begins with exploration. In this phase, each individual works with a Job Coach to create a one-year vocational training plan tailored to their interests and strengths. Participants are introduced to a variety of real-world work environments through volunteer placements at local businesses. This hands-on experience helps them gain confidence and discover their preferred career path.
Classroom instruction and one-on-one coaching cover key workplace topics such as:
-
Focus and task completion
-
Communication and self-advocacy
-
Building confidence
-
Developing a strong work ethic
Supported Employment – Experience Phase
Once ready to enter the workforce, participants move into the Supported Employment phase. Here, Job Coaches provide personalized support with:
-
Resumé writing and job applications
-
Interview preparation and practice
-
Online job search strategies
-
Guided job placement and advocacy
Participants receive ongoing support through every step of the process, including interview accompaniment and on-the-job coaching to ensure long-term success. Job Coaches continue to work closely with individuals and employers to address challenges and promote job retention.
Access-VR Services – Intensive Support
For individuals who need more in-depth training, CR partners with Access-VR to provide intensive supported employment services. Once hired, participants can receive Extended Post-Training (EPT) support—on-the-job coaching throughout their entire shift for up to six months—to help them build skills and independence in the workplace.
